Donovan Mitchell and his Utah Jazz are having a great year as we enter the 2020-21 All Star break.
Mitchell has taken another step toward NBA superstardom as he is averaging 24.7 points per game with 5.4 assists.
And most importantly he has helped guide the Jazz to a 27-9 record here at the break.
It will be fun to see if Donovan and the Jazz can get through LeBron James and the Los Angeles Lakers in
the 2021 NBA Playoffs later this Summer.
I have quite a few Donovan Mitchell rookie cards but I will post those in another thread here in the forum in the coming days.
But this thread is all about 2nd year cards of NBA players.
In the past 8 months or so I picked up 11 Donovan Mitchell 2018-19 Panini Prizm Silver basketball cards.
I paid $10 up to $25 for each of them. In the photo I took below you can see that I have the 7 Silvers as well as a 18-19 Prizm Red Ice and a Purple Wave.
I have been concentrating my basketball card collecting on 2nd year cards.
What I mean by this is a players next issued card after his rookie card.
For example I have bought several Steve Nash 1998-99 Topps Chrome cards off of eBay the last few weeks.
I know Nash’s rookie year card is 1996-97, but I don’t believe he has a 1997-98 Topps Chrome card. I could not find one on eBay so I went and checked the ‘97-98 Chrome checklist on Tradingcarddb and sure enough, no Steve Nash card issued that year.
So the 1998-99 is Nash’s 2nd year Chrome. Here is a screenshot of two of them that I recently got on eBay for $11.50.
